Leave the roads; take the trails.

Our Mission

The Old Lyme Land Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving Old Lyme’s natural, scenic and historic land and water resources for the benefit of the public now and for generations to come. The Trust accomplishes its purpose by acquiring land through donation and purchase, managing the land and by providing education to the public.

Undeveloped land makes Old Lyme unique and beautiful, and it enriches the lives of Old Lyme’s residents. It is a priceless gift to pass on to future generations. Our lands are stewarded by a dedicated group of volunteers who maintain the trails, and a board of trustees that oversees the day to day operations of the trust. We welcome you to visit any of our 14 preserves and use them in accordance with the posted rules.

Let's Go Hiking!

We are pleased that so many people are taking to the Old Lyme Land Trust trails these days!  If you are one of them, please consider joining OLLT as a member and supporting trail upkeep with your donation.  Volunteers are also needed to perform trail work.   Thank you! .

Earth Day Work Party

April 18th 2021at 1:00 pm

(Rain date: Sunday April 25 at 1:00 pm)

The Old Lyme Land Trust will be honoring this special day by blazing new trails and augmenting existing segments at one of our preserves.  These improvements will provide wonderful hiking opportunities for all those in our community to appreciate Mother Nature's gifts. We hope you will consider spending a couple hours with environmentally-minded peers to help
effect this transformation!

Work gloves, loppers, and a hammer--
any or all if you have them.

Weed extractors would be great.

Pre-registration is required!
If you would like to attend or you can lend a weed extractor,  please email Anne Galliher:  anne.l.galliher@snet.net
