CONTRIBUTE
There are many ways to help conserve land in Old Lyme. Land and cash donations are probably the first that come to mind, but there are other methods, each with its own characteristics and benefits. Together they provide a range of options for conservation-minded people in different personal or financial circumstances.
Some choose to donate while they are living, whereas others remember Old Lyme Land Trust in their estate planning. Either way, you can channel your resources to the causes that matter most to you. And keep in mind that many workplace giving campaigns and employer matching contributions can be directed to Old Lyme Land Trust.

Please consult an attorney or financial advisor for detailed advice on tax advantages to you or your heirs.

Become a Steward
Volunteers are at the very core of our success. We do not have paid staff. Trail maintenance, special events, and day-to-day management of our affairs are a part of what volunteers can do. You may spend as much time as you want in any of the following ways:

-
Get to know your property and visit it regularly, keeping an eye out for hazards, encroachments, litter, and invasive species. Identify opportunities for positive improvements, such as new trails and signage, expanded parking, etc.
-
Get to know the borders of your property. OLLT has resources to assist you in locating border markers and other landmarks. We can organize work crews to assist with placing new or renewing old markers.
-
Communicate your findings to the Chief Steward and document your work. The Property Report Form is a good way to communicate your observations and sightings, and request support for needed preserve work.
